Echoes of Stillness

Echoes of Stillness brings together five artists whose work approaches silence not as absence but as material. Across painting, drawing and digital print, the exhibition traces how restraint — a single horizon line, a field of near-identical greys, a pale surface barely disturbed by texture — can hold as much presence as the most exuberant gesture.

Emma Thompson's The Silent Horizon anchors the first room: subtle layers of gold and muted blue that unfold like a slow dawn. Opposite it, Isabella Rodriguez's Lines of Silence reduces the picture to a sequence of horizontal bands, each slightly varied in tone, so that the eye reads the painting the way the body reads breath.

The second room turns to works on paper and to the digital. Sophie Laurent's Between Echoes translates fading sound into fine graphite oscillations, while Marcus Weber's light prints — Horizon Pulse and Lighthouse of Quiet Tides — find the same hush in luminous, coded surfaces. Yuki Tanaka's Memory of Water closes the exhibition with a rhythmic flow that oscillates between turbulence and serenity.

An evening of readings and a conversation between the artists takes place on September 24. Admission is free; group visits can be arranged through the gallery.
