Geometric abstraction of urban structures

Thresholds of Perception opened Domus Picturae in March 2025 with works by all eight artists of the gallery's programme: Emma Thompson, Isabella Rodriguez, James Park, Luca Moretti, Marcus Weber, Sarah Chen, Sophie Laurent and Yuki Tanaka. Each contributed a perspective on the exhibition's central question — where the visible ends and the felt begins.

Emma Thompson's large abstract canvases created immersive colour fields that invited contemplation, while Sophie Laurent's intimate portraits explored the psychological depth of human expression. James Park's sculptural works investigated the relationship between form and space, and Yuki Tanaka's installations combined digital and traditional media to question our relationship with technology.

Marcus Weber's Fragmented City and Luca Moretti's Golden Anatomy framed the exhibition's two poles: the dissonant geometry of the modern metropolis and the luminous fragility of the human body. Between them, Sarah Chen's fragmented landscapes and Isabella Rodriguez's near-monochrome surfaces held the middle ground of memory and place.

The exhibition ran through May 15, 2025 and was accompanied by a programme of artist talks and curator-led tours.
